Eric Roark quickly began learning the fundamentals of business from his Father at the age of 10. He was a hardworking man that supplemented the family income by selling merchandise at the swap meet on the weekends. The entrepreneurial mentorship Eric received at this tender age formed his passion for business. Eric would be exposed to the simple concepts of negotiating purchasing and quantity discounts, the importance of sales and location and the value of good old fashioned hard work. Coming from humble beginnings, there was an early exposure to money management that was a key driver enabling him to get his education and build a career. After a long day at the “office,” Eric and his Father would enjoy a good old fashioned frosty Root Beer Float at A & W. That and knowing that family would have enough money for the week was more than enough reward for a hard day’s work. These experiences built the foundation for passionate business success.
Despite working two or three jobs for roughly 50 hours per week to support his young family, Eric attended college full time. Eric graduated from California State University, San Bernardino with high honors obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Accounting. Why Accounting one might ask? Because Accounting is the language of business and Eric was once told that it understanding the language was key to thriving in the business environment. Eric began his career with Ernst and Young, LLP and passed all four parts of the uniform CPA exam in his first sitting. This formed the basis for the belief that passionate and diligent work would be rewarded with success.
